The tips of evil reached and stole
Precious humans. Beautiful souls.
Loss of lives not yet done
On a night of relaxation and fun
The love that evaporated within those walls
Copiously shined through final text and calls
Sadness ruffles feelings of those far away
Having more tears than comfort to say
How does one heal from such a loss
How does one recoup the priceless cost
When will the broken heart become whole
Why not take mine....soul for soul
Let them live. Let them return to be embraced
For their families to see their smiling face
Sadness weighs on loved ones' hearts
While vultures pick them politically a part.
Allow them to grieve... to remember the good
Allow the 49 peaceful rest, understood
Just imagine Revelation 21:4
A hope for the future...something more
This doesn't remove the heartache so raw
Nor brittles anger to crumble and fall
But maybe a chance to see more than darkness ahead
Maybe a bit of hope in the bleakness instead
I wish all the families find a way to cope
May whatever brings them closure also give them hope
